Opportunity
Epson Hong Kong decided to redesign their online store with more refined user experience and modern visual design.
Pain points
My work began with a quick usability review of their original online store, and identified two major pain points:

1. Warranty registration — in the original journey, customers face the log in/sign up barrier even before they can search for their product through serial number; the registration form also consists of questions that do not seem to be relevant to the product itself (e.g. education level, martial status).
2. Shopping cart — it was not displayed upfront on the page, making it hard to access.
Solution
Starting from user journey diagrams, my goal was to deliver a simplified user experience that encourages new customers to register warranty through the website and return for online purchase.

To reduce the potential to drop-off from warranty registration journey, my design proposed allowing customers look for their products before asking them to create an account. Shopping cart also relocates to navigation bar for better ease to get access to.
Deliverable
The final design offers users smooth experiences in shopping Epson products and in managing warranties. The new UI also follows a clean and modern style that coheres Epson's brand identity.
